I hide away from violent discussion Cause I can’t argue my own possessions I hope the rope is longer than I’m hung You speak to me with acid on your tongue Burning down my throat Living in the beautiful skies, living in the beautiful skies Neglecting everything you despise cause we’re living in the beautiful skies You’re stealing silver and the porcelain From unknown houses you’ve only looked in People are questioning the things I’ve got But I don’t listen, out fox your little plot Hiding in looped holes Living in the beautiful skies, living in the beautiful skies Neglecting everything you despise, cause we’re living in the beautiful skies Living in the beautiful skies, living in the beautiful skies Everybody’s looking surprised when everything that’s beautiful dies

You say you wanna move on from this as if it never occurred You say the past is past its voices don’t need to be heard But your reputation lurks in the seams of your work Hides behind the good intentions and decisions, but If you wanna lose your shadow well you gotta Turn out the light Walking through a crowd of people wit the arms open wide Walking through acquaintances with hands of new things to try But the remedy burns and eventually turns The little world you build yourself to catch 22, but If you wanna lose your shadow well you gotta Turn out the light If you’re sick of silent whispers secretly selling you short of what you think you’re worth If you wanna lose your shadow well you gotta Turn out the light

So many friends, so many faces, yet you feel so detached Looking out over a crowd of people standing uncomfortable Oh it’s easier to believe, to learn the different ways in which they grieve It never sinks in when it’s hard to comprehend But it must’ve been some kind of relief to have the worst confirmed Oh nobody knows what to say but they all try to anyway Oh it thunders down my soul and dwells within my bones, to know that this will one day be my own Oh is there a fatigue in knowing you’re not as strong as you need to be Oh it thunders down my soul and dwells within my bones to know that this will one day be my own
